Wag the dog

Persona non grata

Malaysians will be fools to be easily dragged into Chin Peng's return. He is a persona non grata, a non issue whatsoever. The issue should be left at that point or at best as part of history lesson in school. By history, I really mean the truth however painful it is to certain quarters.

Die hard supporters of the ruling coalition especially from the dominant party are near hysterical when the issue crops out. Indeed, we should be impressed on how the ruling coalition plays with emotion and sentiment on the issue. They should be applauded for their clever manipulation of the situation. Nonetheless, be as it is the People are no longer easy preys, gullible as we once were.

Today, such ploy is viewed with extreme prejudice since the issue starts afresh after Teng Hock Nan, the Pulau Pinang Gerakan Chief suggests that Chin Peng be allowed to return on humanitarian ground. For him and some others he is no longer a threat. Well, literally he's an old man so how could he still be a threat. He has lost his agility as the man he once was during the height of communist insurgency. Nonetheless, his physical appearance just like the ploy orchestrated by the ruling coalition must not deceived any right minded and patriotic Malaysians. What his organisation, the Communist Party of Malaya to our relatives is a clear proof of the danger he still welds in his hand despite his advanced age.

However, what is the most interesting matter is how Gerakan and UMNO play their parts in the latest antics of the ruling coalition. Both want to be seen as champions in their own right but in reality they are working in tandem with each other on a prepared script. This recent hullabaloo is their ploy of regaining lost ground in view of the waning support for the ruling coalition. They want to steer the People way from issues like PKFZ and what happens in Perak, Terengganu and the latest in Perlis.

As intelligent as he admittedly is, Chin Peng today has become a political pawn by the ruling coalition for their own political agenda. The court has earlier on decides that he can no longer return and the matter should rest forever. Now, all the ex communists are living comfortably at the Malaysian- Thai Unity Village. What more they want? Communism cannot survive or even allowed to survive in this nation since their core belief is atheism - non believer in the existence of God. Though some may argue that time has changed so does communism but look at China where freedom of religion is still suspect.

Malaysians should not be naive to be easily duped into believing that we are facing with the imminent return of Chin Peng and Communism. At best it is only a scripted drama to distract the People of the real issue of dying democracy in Malaysia.

"Wag the Dog, that's what they are doing."

His Story Not Your Story

They were Freedom Fighters too

Out of the blue, Malaysia today is abuzz with the resurgence of communism. It starts when Pulau Pinang Gerakan's Head 'begs' the government to allow Chin Peng's return on humanitarian basis. Today the recently promoted Defence Minister claims that some are trying to revive communism. If it is true then we are facing great challenge ahead of us.

Perhaps I am qualified to share my views on communism since mine at best is based on readings on communism which admittedly very limited indeed. Communism is based on Karl Marx idea of a utopia - an ideal place where everyone is equal but to many it is not utopia at all since man are created differently from each other, at least in terms of gender.

Back to the issue of communist revival, to allow Chin Peng to return is indeed an insult to those who have lost their lives trying to uphold and secure the sovereignty and freedom of this nation from falling to the communist. Although some may argue that communism today is very different from communists of the old but basically and ideologically it remains the same where the State controls everything and most importantly religion plays no part in the day to day administration of the State.

Many have fallen to its idealistic charm including our fellow Muslims like Abdullah CD and the late Shamsiah Fakeh. Perhaps, in the beginning communism is just what it proclaims - equality for all but I really have problem reconciling the fact that they have killed their own flesh and blood during the long years of their struggle to take over a legitimate government chosen by the People.

Nonetheless, I believe that the current situation is a non issue but the ruling coalition's ploy of diverting the People's anger and disappointment of what is happening in Perak. Maybe it is a coincidence that the current Defence Minister comes from Perak and he is among the first from the ruling coalition to publicly claims that communism is being revived albeit covertly. Indeed, it is to me a clear political manoeuvre to distract the People of the state of democracy in Malaysia today. To prove that I may be right, remember who is the first to moot such idea of allowing Chin Peng to return? An important leader of the ruling coalition and the rest is history when UMNO stalwarts like Rais Yatim and Zahid Hamidi take on the cue to show that the ruling coalition a.k.a the government is against such move.

The public need to be told the truth and here I mean the real truth not the truth concocted by interested parties of the role of the left or right movements in the struggle for independence of the beloved nation of ours. History needs to be told and not manipulated so that everyone will feel that he or she is appreciated. This is what 1Malaysia is about , the truth and not the selected truth. We should not deny that movements like MPAJA, Peta, API, AWAS and others have their share in cultivating and maintaining the spirit and struggle towards independence. To blot their contribution is a disservice to every Malaysian.

Let the People be the judge of these movements' contribution rather than by dismissing them outright by telling younger generations that ONLY UMNO is responsible towards the independence of the fatherland of ours.

History means his story and not our story, really

Not the Same Ever

DEMOCRACY is D.Y.I.N.G

Now it is Penanti
Next will be Manik Urai
But the big question will forever be;
When is Perak's turn?

Victory through tainted means
Or many prefer to say
Via the back door
Like what happened to George Bush Junior
Does not augur well with
Democratic principle which
The coalition keep on harping

Its bewildering
When they staunchly support for
Ms. Suu Kyi's release
Since they are more like the junta
Who imprisons Democracy
In Myanmar

What is done is done
What will be will be
But remember
The People will never forget
As to what has happened to
DEMOCRACY
In Malaysia!

Last Hurrah

There is NO JUSTIFICATION in T.H.E.F.T

Indeed it is very difficult and often times to satisfy everyone's wishes but being a people-friendly government as they always declare themselves to be, it is in fact confusing when the government is reluctant to return to the People their right over a government of their choice. What happens in Perak is an instance where the government seems just like their counter part in Myanmar who is bent towards denying the People the government of their choice. I t is totally unacceptable to say that the current Perak government is the People's government however often they claim or try to show it to the public.

They may have forgotten that responsibility and authority are the same thing and not to be taken for granted. Authority to govern in a democratic nation is solely the People's right and prerogative and never in the hand of others however revered they are to the People.
The coalition particularly the dominant party within the coalition has been talking of changes and the need for them to change in order to stay relevant and recuperate and recover the waning support. Regretfully, it remains a rhetoric and they never really grasp the reality just like what happened to the last dynasty in China in the early 20th century, God willing they will lose everything they covet so dearly comes the 13th general election.

They should have respected the People's wish to opt for a different personnel to man the state. They should remember that all is not lost since they still control the Federal government which controls almost everything. It is is bewildering to see how they are blinded by power since they cannot see the impact of what they have done in Perak will severely ruin their chance to regain the lost grounds and deteriorate it further. Nonetheless, praise be to Allah for He has shown their true self and whatever they do and will do is looked upon with greatest distrust.

The judiciary itself is still struggling to regain its grandeur but with the latest decision by a sole man of the Court of Appeal who is coincidentally? implicated in the Lingam Gate case, has indeed put the judiciary again under intense scrutiny and criticism. Usually, a panel of judges will hear an appeal in the second highest court but what happens weeks ago is certainly peculiar since a single judge dispensed a case with such magnitude. What happens in Perak certainly warrants a full panel since it concerns the well-being of the People, democratic principle and also human rights issues.
The matter itself how the judiciary shows double standard and preference since the rightful MB is stripped of his status less than a day after the High Court declares him to be the rightful Chief Executive. When the rightful MB challenges the Court of Appeal's decision, the court assigns a later date unlike the special treatment accorded to the illegal MB. Both parties should be treated impartially and thus given equal attention. Remember, justice should not only be done but most importantly it is seen to be done.

In a nutshell, the current government has certainly impaired its stature in matters of human rights since they have deliberately 'rape' democracy. Whatever they say or argue about other countries has no standing at all. Allah is Great for He has shown who and what kind of government Malaysia has today!

It is to late to save Humpty Dumpty for he has fallen into pieces!

Knaves

Above politics, are they?

Politicians most often than not take the people for granted since they have the mainstream media to back them up and feeding the people with lies and mischief though they keep on accusing others of spreading lies. In fact, they are the true knaves who prefer the assumed truth rather than the truth.

Now, some are saying that the Opposition are being ungrateful and disloyal to the Monarch for what has happened in Perak. But, in reality and by reality I refer to fact who is responsible of demoting the Monarch to their current level back in 1983? Who dared to install a new ruler in Kelantan just because the sitting ruler does not agree with him? Now, they are like mad cow disease-infected patients calling and declaring others as being treacherous against the Monarch! A clear fact of hypocrisy indeed.

Though the power to appoint a Chief Executive lies in the Ruler but the way the 'illegal' Chief Executive is emplaced is something many cannot fathom and accept. It is a coup d'etat in democracy since Monarch is above politics therefore by impartiality it really means that only the People have the right over the election and appointment of a day to day government. Ironically, the one who is dragged into the mess is none other than a former Lord President ( now Chief Justice of the Federal Court), a person who is well-versed in the letters of law. He should know how to interpret the law as he is once part of the law itself.

Slim majority should not be blamed for the fracas since integrity and principle should be their shield against any malpractices. They are elected to their seats by the People therefore they need to honour the People by resigning or give away their seats if they no longer feel aligned with the struggle of the party or parties they once belonged to. They should believe in collective responsibility though they are not appointed as part of the Executive Council or the Cabinet. If they no longer believe in the struggle of their party , the only way out based on integrity and responsibility is by resigning their post and not by changing allegiance.

Talking about allegiance, what happens to Raymond Tan the embattled Sabah DCM is another example how power can corrupt a person though he may declare that he is sticking to the coalition merely to serve the People. If he truly the person he claims to be, the honourable way is to relinquish his post as the DCM and let others and in his case let the CM appoints someone else. In politics, experience is not a bigger issue since a politician in office has a number of qualified and experienced civil servants to help him. We have instances where people under the age of 30 are selected to contest in elections just like DSNR himself. Hence, Musa Aman can appoint almost anyone to fill in the DCM quota for Chinese. If he is a capable leader such will not be an issue since as everyone including those in BN says that it is his prerogative to appoint anyone to the state cabinet.

How can we trust politicians since they are not whom they claim to be?

Fears

A wishful wish

Coming Monday, we will know who is the real Perak MB though it may not be favourable to many especially those who view the current Perak government as being illegal since they are there due to 'hidden hands' heavily relying on cheap and dirty political ploy. What happens in Perak today could have been avoided if those with power wisely disperse the authority in their hand simply by returning the power to the Perakians. This is what will happen if those in power is hanging by a thin thread. Now the governing coalition is facing among if not the most challenging time ever.

Everywhere throughout the nation, Opposition elected representatives are offering to resign. It is done to test the credibility and the strength the governing coalition boastfully pronounced. People today are no longer the lame duck or the ignoramus of the old days where main stream media rule the day. People meekly obey what are presented to them without the slightest doubt.
If TDM was to rule today, he may not enjoy the same fete he once proudly covets. He is today is just an old senile man crying over his past glory. If he truly whom he claims he is, his son Mukhriz would have jumped ship when he did so few months back. No offence to his admirers out there but his is today a persona non grata, someone who longer needed but for selected few who enjoy his senile thoughts. To make matter worst, his protege, DSNR is seen to be not his protege but more like his puppet. The proofs are abundantly clear, for once he opts to appoint the loser son of TDM as a MITI deputy minister while the victor is left mending his wounded pride alone in the cold! Even more insulting, the victor's deputy instead is chosen as a cabinet member.

The political impasse in Perak will only end if the Assembly is dissolved and the People become the King Maker once again. The issue of who start the trend is a non issue since it never materialised. What has become a fact today is that BN become the government instead through frogging, an act which has not materialised on the part of the Opposition. They won the government by deceit and if they got the government through the court, still the public trust will remain lost forever as at that time they win through the court and not through the proper channel, through those whom they admit as their Master for they truly are their Master' servants.
In a nut shell, for the very first time the blogger does not feel the excitement whenever a new prime minister takes over. In fact, there is a lull of disappointment and a tinge of sadness. True, the blogger may be a nobody but based on democratic principle, the blogger too is a somebody!

SWINE FLU COVER UP

Months ago it was bird flu
Few days ago it was swine flu
Suddenly, today it is
INFLUENZA A!

What on earth they are afraid or ashamed or offended by such name
If it really comes from swine?
It is better to face the truth than to hide behind such 'bombastic' tag?
A misnomer, a cover up, a conspiracy

What is there to be offended by such illness?
We have even a tahi itik for a cuisine
though it is not as 'dirty' as swine
Still it filthily named!

No need for a cover up, a conspiracy
To put 'bombastic' tag to a terrible disease
It is a sign by the Almighty
that the world
is closer to its E.N.D
