Wag the dog

Persona non grata

Malaysians will be fools to be easily dragged into Chin Peng's return. He is a persona non grata, a non issue whatsoever. The issue should be left at that point or at best as part of history lesson in school. By history, I really mean the truth however painful it is to certain quarters.

Die hard supporters of the ruling coalition especially from the dominant party are near hysterical when the issue crops out. Indeed, we should be impressed on how the ruling coalition plays with emotion and sentiment on the issue. They should be applauded for their clever manipulation of the situation. Nonetheless, be as it is the People are no longer easy preys, gullible as we once were.

Today, such ploy is viewed with extreme prejudice since the issue starts afresh after Teng Hock Nan, the Pulau Pinang Gerakan Chief suggests that Chin Peng be allowed to return on humanitarian ground. For him and some others he is no longer a threat. Well, literally he's an old man so how could he still be a threat. He has lost his agility as the man he once was during the height of communist insurgency. Nonetheless, his physical appearance just like the ploy orchestrated by the ruling coalition must not deceived any right minded and patriotic Malaysians. What his organisation, the Communist Party of Malaya to our relatives is a clear proof of the danger he still welds in his hand despite his advanced age.

However, what is the most interesting matter is how Gerakan and UMNO play their parts in the latest antics of the ruling coalition. Both want to be seen as champions in their own right but in reality they are working in tandem with each other on a prepared script. This recent hullabaloo is their ploy of regaining lost ground in view of the waning support for the ruling coalition. They want to steer the People way from issues like PKFZ and what happens in Perak, Terengganu and the latest in Perlis.

As intelligent as he admittedly is, Chin Peng today has become a political pawn by the ruling coalition for their own political agenda. The court has earlier on decides that he can no longer return and the matter should rest forever. Now, all the ex communists are living comfortably at the Malaysian- Thai Unity Village. What more they want? Communism cannot survive or even allowed to survive in this nation since their core belief is atheism - non believer in the existence of God. Though some may argue that time has changed so does communism but look at China where freedom of religion is still suspect.

Malaysians should not be naive to be easily duped into believing that we are facing with the imminent return of Chin Peng and Communism. At best it is only a scripted drama to distract the People of the real issue of dying democracy in Malaysia.

"Wag the Dog, that's what they are doing."
