Should We Believe?

Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) Behrang, Jamaluddin Mohd. Radzi mengesahkan beliau kini adalah wakil rakyat bebas. Hakikat tersebut perlu diterima kerana Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) yang diwakili sebelum ini, telah `membuangnya.'
First of all, we need to thank EC for its decision not to endorse the notice of the Perak State Assembly Speaker who earlier sends a notification that the two state seats held by two excos vacant. Although, the EC Chairman states that the decision is based on 'discrepancies' and 'irregularities' in the resignation letters purported to be signed by the two State Assemblymen. He further stresses that the decision is impartial and not influence by the coalition in control of the Federal government.

After being absent without leave those two State Councillors are given a reprieved by the SPR as there will be no by elections. Now, they can continue as the elected representatives who as they please are absent from work. It is reported that one of them is on his way from Pahang. A nice coincidence since the DPM is also reported to be there as well. I wonder being a civil servant albeit politically appointed and holding a political posts, they can be absent from work as they please just by claiming they have submit medical leave to prove their justified absence. What will happen if a civil servant suddenly decide to take off and later on claim to have submit a medical certificate to justify their sudden departure?

Now, one of them is claiming that he is now an Independent Assemblyman as he has been dumped unceremoniously by his party. I wonder how long he or his colleague will remain 'independent' before suddenly realising that they cannot serve the people without being a member of a political organisation? Will he or both suddenly claim that they are returning to their 'root' in the biggest party in the ruling coalition because they feel guilty of not being able to serve the people well? Will he later on in his sad face claim that he now realises that the biggest racial based party in the ruling coalition is the only right channel to bring development and to look after the welfare of his constituency? Will he say that he now realises that he has been wrong to join the Opposition and proceeds to become one of their elected representatives and by virtue him being appointed a State Councillor?

How long will we be blinded and fooled by the head of the ruling coalition sweet talk and exceptional political play through deceit, enticement, coercion, threat and sort of means as long as they remain in power disregarding the voice of the people? How long should we suffer under clear and ingenious hypocrisy by one who founded the diabolical Islam Hadhari? Saying something which totally against his own conduct? Should we tolerate a man who portrays himself as being very religious but prefer to lie by stating that he will not dissolved the previous Parliament due to various unfulfilled promises only to dissolve the Parliament the next day?

Should we continue to believe and trust those who say that crossing over to the Opposition by their elected Representatives as an act of treachery and inhumane as well as all sorts of negative insinuation while at the same time welcome and condone any crossing over by Opposition elected representatives as being patriotic and people oriented?

How long do we need to follow wholeheartedly the advices of leaders from the ruling coalition to conserve and to save in the face of the impending economic turmoil while those leaders continue to indulge in senseless and extreme luxury by vacationing overseas, buying and driving oil thirsty high powered imported cars? Should we continue to believe that the impending economic crisis will never affects Malaysia since we have a sound and very solid economic fundamentals with increasing inflation rate hovering between 5 to 8 percent from previous 3 to 4 percent? Do we need to trust those who are trying to pacify the people with cosmetic oil price decrease while thousands have already lost their jobs and thousands others are waiting in line to lose theirs any days? Can we really trust and remain loyal to those who fail to check the suffocating and escalating price of necessities?

Should we continue to believe and thus put our faith on those who offer a better alternative to the current crop of in denial leaders? Should we trust those who show to us that they lead by example instead of just propagating ideals they never believe or practise? Should we believe in the story of David versus Goliath, the fairytale story where the minute manges to overpower the mighty? Should we believe that impossible really means empower the possibilities? Should we continue to dream and strive towards a better Malaysia under a truly people oriented rulers?
