United we will be voctorious

I have just finished surfing a blog which belongs to VM Koding, the Information Chief of the newly energised Pasok. Going through his entries I realised that he has strong belief in the ability of Sabahans to rule and of course take care of this beloved land of ours. On this point I strongly agree with him as Sabah and Malaysians in Sabah should be respected and duly treated like Malaysians. The recent findings that natives in Sabah and Sarawak lie last in the overall socio economic status of the nation should served as a wake up call to everyone especially those local leaders.

They should in the very beginning stood firm in safeguarding the rights of Malaysians in Sabah not just paying lip service to those in K.L. They should strive harder to give clearer picture of what really happened here in Sabah and not just saying that everything is fine. I am sure that those higher ups will eventually listen and gradually done something to address the issue of backwardness here if our leaders put the people's interest before anything else. What DS Nazri Aziz said with regards to illegal immigrants was partly due to misinformation and lying by our local leaders because they might have something for their own good. Just like what the PKR Interior Chief did a week ago - looking after the foreigners! Why? Surely you all know why.

Coming back to VM Koding's stand, he seems to have great distrust of our fellow Malaysians in the Peninsular due to the current situation whereby it seems that they have everything but saying that they haven't got any. Nonetheless, as true Malaysians we should believe in unity and co-operation to achieve our common goal. I share the view of the skeptics that Pasok alone will not fare better in the upcoming election not only because of their poor track records but also because of their narrow political thinking. Fighting the BN is liken to a battle between David and Goliath between the mighty and the minnow.

They should not be arrogant but instead they should practised humility and by humility I mean realising their weaknesses as well as their limited strength. Instead of being a lone ranger they should sit and co-operate with the other opposition parties just like the infamous Justice League. By totally denying and declining co-operation with others, they have shown their immaturity and their mind is clouded by their distrust of others. Considering their distrust of 'imported' political parties then they should at least have some kind of co-operation with local based parties like Setia and Bersekutu. But again without co-operation and sincerity surely most of opposition candidates will lose including their deposits.

Some may argue that God's plannings we will never know and Pasok may enjoy huge victory over the mighty BN like what happened in 1985 when unknown PBS managed to topple Berjaya or when Pas managed to wrest Terengganu in 1999. However, we must always remember that having two heads is far better than having one functioning head. Having discussion and co-operation will serve as a platform to analyse everything inside and outside. Learn from Umno itself, they realised that they will never managed to win every election since 1952 if not for co-operation from MCA and MIC.

Winning an election is not an easy task and I as a political green compared to those in Pasok admits that I don't have even an iota of experience in politics but I know the power of being humble. Being humble means I know my limitations thus helps me to plan for any mountainous task. Again we must learn from history like what happened to Hindraf, they failed because their struggle was based on individual causes but imagine what will happen if it was a concentrated efforts by Malaysians transcending faiths and colours.

Long live Momogun
