Vox Populi

As usual surfing the net is a must for my holidays. Last night, I stumbled upon a very good blog by none other than Rustam A Sani, the son of the infamous Datuk Ahmad Boestamam. Many would say he's a socialist and a leftist, well...maybe he is.

Nonetheless, surfing through his blogs was indeed an interesting as well as exciting experience as he offered a very different and simultaneously enlightening perspective to many incidents such as the Bersih and Hindraf demonstrations. I am amazed how a Malay and a Muslim could tolerate such criticism of his roots. Well, Pak Rustam is one unique example. He if I may say so has totally elevates himself from narrow racial mindedness to a more transparent stand.

Many may not realised that Hindraf is an eye opener to social justice in our nation. For him such demonstration should initially directed at voicing out social imbalance among Malaysians not restricted to certain racial connotations. Indeed, if the Indians could have done so how about those minorities in Sabah, Sarawak and the Peninsular, who are themselves considered as sons of the soil? What about them?

Therefore, it is better for all Malaysians to gather and consult each other and come out with one voice totally devoid of races leaning to expose the in justice that they have endured for so long. Many will open their eyes if they see millions of Malaysians come out to show their solidarity and brotherhood rather than by single race which many will perceive as having ulterior racial connotations.
